The Aesculap Bonum Clipper is a new cordless clipper, fitted with a lithium Ion battery, feauturing a slim and ergonomic design.

The Bonum boasts low weight, low noise and long battery life. Weighing just 900 grams the Bonum is well balanced machine which is completely cordless. Cordless clipping gives greater manoeurvrabilty, is less stressful for the horse and gives the freedom to clip anywhere.

This machine comes with 1 x Standard and 1 x Fine set (if the two blade option is selected). If you wish to replace with additional or different grades then please put a note on your order or email us separately. There is an additional charge of £6.00 for a second set of fine blades to replace the medium ones that they usually come with.

Usage Instructions

Charge the battery by sloting it into the charger, the green light will flash whilst charging and will stay on when the battery is fully charged.
Clip the battery into the end of the handpiece

Using the battery:

Charge will last about 2 hrs, it will then stop dead.

If your battery has stopped dead, the machine will run again if switched on but only for a few seconds. This is not a fault, the clippers are designed to do this and will require charging.

TOP TIP - If you have more than one battery it is a good idea to number them to avoid mixing them up.

Tension the blades - for a step by step guide to tensioning your Bonum Clippers do watch the video above. Alternatively, follow these steps:

With the blades attached, turn the clippers on with the power button on top of the handpiece.
Loosen the bottom 'locking nut'
Loosen the top 'tensioning nut' until the sound of the clippers becomes higher pitched.
At this point, turn the top 'tensioning nut' one full turn in a clockwise direction.
Tighten the bottom 'locking nut' to secure the tension.
The battery has a 55 minute charge time and 80 minutes running time.

"Easy to operate, comfortable to handle, very powerful and efficient. Glided through my native pony's coat which he had not shed due to Cushing's disease. The pony actually so enjoyed the sensation of having all the fluff clipped off that he simply stood and snoozed.
